New from Sunny Spearman
You can feel your grief and still function.
Grief does not ask permission before it shows up, and it rarely fits neatly into a schedule. The Shelf Method is a simple daily practice that gives what you are carrying a protected place to land, so it does not have to run your whole day.
$12One time, not a subscription. Both editions included.
Delivered the moment you buy, so you can begin Day 1 tonight.
Three steps, every day, for thirty days
Surrender, not suppression. Function, not dysfunction.
- 01
Set the Timer
A protected window of time, just for you and what you are carrying. No fixing anything yet. Just presence.
- 02
Feel It
The day's scripture and prompt meet you exactly where you are. Write honestly. There is no version of this that is wrong.
- 03
Shelve It
When the timer ends, you set it down on purpose, because you get to choose when you pick it back up.
You should not have to choose between feeling it and functioning
Most grief advice asks you to pick one. Push it down and get through the day, or let it take the whole day from you. The Shelf Method grew out of a simpler truth: you can do both.
Instead of carrying it everywhere or pretending it is not there, you give it a set time and a real place to land. You are not avoiding the grief. You are deciding when you pick it up.
What is inside
Thirty days, each one built the same way, so the practice becomes something you can return to without thinking about it.
The practice deepens at your pace
You start with five minutes. By the end you are sitting with it for fifteen, because by then you can.
Naming what you are carrying, in the smallest window that still counts.
Going further into the harder questions, with more room on the page.
Strength, renewal, and what you want to believe is still possible.
Both editions, one purchase
However you like to write, it is already included.
Print at home

Fillable digital

About the author
Sunny Spearman
Sunny is an empowerment coach who walks with people through the seasons that do not resolve on schedule. The Shelf Method is her signature framework, and this journal is the first edition of it in print.
If a day stirs up more than these pages can hold, that is exactly the kind of work she goes deeper on in a one-on-one Breakthrough Session.
Questions people ask first
Is this therapy?
No. This is a self-guided coaching tool for reflection and encouragement, written to give grief structure and gentleness. It is not a substitute for medical, psychological, or grief counseling care, and it is not meant to replace a professional who knows your situation.
Do I need to be religious to use it?
Each day opens with a verse, and each day closes with an invitation to pray in your own words. If that is your language, you will feel at home. If you are unsure where you stand with God right now, several of the prompts are written for exactly that.
What do I actually receive?
Two PDF files, delivered right after you buy. One is built to print at home and write in by hand. The other you can type into and save on your computer or tablet. Both are yours to keep.
What if I miss a day?
Pick it up when you can. The days are numbered so you can find your place, not so you can fall behind. Grief does not keep a schedule, and neither does this.
Can I use it for a loss that was years ago?
Yes. The prompts ask what you are carrying now, not when you started carrying it. Grief that is old is still grief.
